Went to kranji camp to get my teeth checked out on monday. It's purely procedural, one of those bureaucratic neccesities before I formally get bumped down to reservist status. It got me wistful and relieved, looking on at soldiers receiving weapons training, as I walked towards the dental centre. Camouflage no longer resonants in my retina.

I like this life I'm living now. I wake up by 9am, break my fast, then hunker down to extended periods of reading the Bible. Nearing lunch, I'll whip my sixstrings (or xbox controller) out and play. The afternoons are then langoured away in lethargy. The past few nights have been spent watching Lord of the Rings Trilogy (extended, mind you). Yes, I have finally left the Shire and made the treacherous journey to Gonder. It took me 3 sittings (over 3 consecutive nights) to finish it all.

Of course, I am very eager for my church internship to commence. It'll take away some my restlessness.

This friday is Good Friday. The day when Man killed God. Go read the Gospels. That is the greatest story ever told, and even the Ring and our hardy Hobbits point towards that eternal tale.

Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?

It's finally over. And it's been very enriching as it has been fulfilling and physically draining. Ask Lucas and Jovian. The whole battalion depended on my success to continue moving on in Mission One. I like to think I screwed it up even though the objective was met. Haha.

It's finally here. My tour of duty as a soldier for 26 months drawing itself to a rather climactic close.

I think I've finally reached the intellectual and emotional zenith that every soldier stumbles upon. A settled acceptance of solitude, and a resolve to die for the land you live in.

"It's finally back to life!" I'll smile and agree with you on that, but I think, very subtly, my friend, we'll find that yours and mine has changed for the better.
